Sorprendido entró a la habitación, miró hacia el oriente, tratando de buscar el sol que una vez lo vio nacer, se acordó de su madre y de su padre, de sus hermanos, y de lo que no fue, en el oriente.

Con sus ojos cansados, sólo pudo ver el perfil de la mujer que amaba en el espejo del viejo armario, ella estaba sentada inmóvil pero fue suficiente para encontrar la calma. A pesar que ya no era igual de bella que hace algunos años, ella era la misma que un día entrego su sonrisa por amor, se acordó de los buenos momentos de su vida en esta nueva tierra, de sus amigos, de sus amantes, de sus hijos, y de sus nietos. LA FAMILIA

Muy buenos días! Decía Doña Toña a sus gallinas cuando estas cacareando la seguían por todo el patio de tierra de la casona de Don Joaquín, su Señor marido desde los 15 años cumplidos. Ella tenía la creencia de que si les hablaba y se portaba bien con ellas, las gallinas pondrían huevos más grandes y sabrosos. Yo nunca entendí, porque la continua atención de Doña Toña hacia la niña, si no eran familia de sangre, hasta que una vez en la Biblia leí, más vale amigo cercano que hermano lejano. Y es que realmente no es la sangre lo que une a una familia, sino el saber que puedes contar con alguien cuando más lo necesitas o cuando menos lo esperas.

EL TRABAJO

La niña Leo estaba lavando desde muy temprano como era su costumbre, a pesar de sus 70 años aún seguía en el mismo oficio que le permitió criar a sus 7 hijos durante mas de 55 años, en ella se veía el desgaste de la piel causado por el sol y la vejez, su piel esclavizada al agua y al calor de un oficio no superior.

Durante años, ella fue sometida a los pagos a destajo según pareceres y quereres de sus patronos, comúnmente desproporcionados ante los esfuerzos que tenia que hacer por su contextura, altura y edad avanzada pero que aún así lavaba, tendía, planchaba, doblaba y colgaba la ropa de todas las familias de la cuadra sin quejas o reclamos.

Doña Mercedes y Doña Lola eran unas de sus mejores clientas, de ves en cuando le daban la ropa que ya no se ponían, casi siempre cuando se acercaba navidad, así tranquilizaban sus almas por todos los gastos banales que hacían llegadas estas fiestas.

A la niña Leo, siempre se le vio sonreír, nunca quejarse, cantaba alegre por donde andaba, vivió más años llena de salud que cualquiera de su pueblo, sus hijos fueron exitosos y muy amorosos con ella hasta el final de sus días. Y es que ¿de qué te sirve tener fortunas y vivir a la moda, si cuando llegue la muerte, no has sido feliz, no tienes a quien decirle adiós, o alguien quien te recuerde?.

EL TIEMPO

Ellos, Don Joaquín, Don Cesar, sus hijos y los jóvenes repartidores del periódico, estaban en la puerta discutiendo las últimas noticias de su tiempo y espacio, y del siglo en el que vivían, se escuchaban las discusiones sobre cantidades de noticias vendidas, las deudas y las modas que mostraba la nueva revista de la semana.

Ella, Doña Carmen aún estaba en el cuarto, untándose mil cremas buscando detener el tiempo y empolvándose en frente del abanico Pie Grande. El polvo como a los años se los llevaba el viento y sin darnos cuenta en todas partes deja su rastro. Finalmente el último toque, su perfume favorito de la marca que alguna vez le regalo Don Cesar, su marido, en su último viaje. Antes de salir como es usual se peinó frente al espejo enmohecido de su habitación.

Yo aún seguía escurridizamente como la luz buscando nuevos sitios que descubrir, revisando todos los retratos, vitrinas, armarios, hasta encontrar un nuevo misterio que investigar, pasadizos secretos, historias de amor olvidadas, vestigios del tiempo envueltos en telarañas y dejados al descubierto solo para los bichos, seres inferiores que perciben y notan lo que para los otros es invisible, la historia olvidada.

¿Porque cuando crecemos dejamos de admirar las cosas simples de la vida? ¡Qué afortunados son los que nunca se cansan de admirar lo poco importante para otros! Nunca estarán aburridos y siempre querrán saber más, podrán inventar historias a partir de una telaraña, de un sapo, o de un gusano, e inclusive descubrir la forma de viajar en el tiempo, analizando el desfile de las horas en el reloj de la abuela.

EL AFAN DE VIVIR

Niña, ven a bañarte… ya el agua está caliente!, ese era el grito que avisaba el final de la diversión, ese era el monstruo acuático que venía por mí, tenía que correr sin mirar a tras, tenía que seguir no podía parar o todo acabaría una vez mas.

Cuando corriendo por el pasillo, me tropecé y como es usual termine en el piso, pero como no hay mal que por bien no venga, descubrí una nueva historia, una nueva forma de ver la vida…

Y es que después de una gran caída bastante es lo que se aprende, como por ejemplo: Niña… ¡no corras que tienes los cordones sueltos!, frase a la que nunca le prestamos atención hasta que nos caímos por vez primera y notamos que efectivamente nuestros cordones estaban sueltos. Sin embargo, sólo hasta después de muchos años logré entender la profundidad de esta frase y es que ¿para qué el afán de volar si aún no estamos preparados para hacerlo? y es que cuando soñamos, el sueño no nos dice cuándo, sólo sabemos que puede ser posible que suceda y si nos gusta vamos tras el, no sabemos como alcanzarlo hacemos lo que creemos nos ayudará a conseguirlo.

Tu no mereces migajas

Tu vales tanto como la persona con la que deseas compartir tu vida.

Tu vales tanto como cualquier otra persona en este mundo que es amada.

Quien te ama debe amarte tanto como para respetarte y no humillarte ofreciéndote migajas.

Quien no te puede ofrecer amor de tiempo completo no te merece.

Quien te humilla diciéndote que estar contigo no es suficiente no merece estar contigo.

Hay personas que no te puede ofrecer un mundo nuevo porque deben cargar con lastres del pasado.

Esos lastres fueron responsabilidades que ellos asumieron por decisiones que tomaron, que afectaron no solo su vida sino la vida de personas que los aman, como la tuya.

Algunos tienen incluso la incapacidad para tomar nuevamente una decisión que les permita empezar de nuevo. Tienen miedo a perder el afecto de otras personas o a que los llamen fracasados.

Sencillamente son personas mutiladas en su capacidad de decidir para hacer feliz. No son felices y tampoco dejan ser feliz a los demás.

Pero tú puedes tomar una decisión, lo suficientemente valerosa como para tener una nueva oportunidad de ser feliz y amar por completo, sobre todo por amarte a ti misma.

No tienes por que compadecerte por ese ser incapaz de amarte por completo, porque tu tienes que preocuparte por tú felicidad y un amor incompleto nunca te hará feliz.

Cuando la pasión se acabe, te darás cuenta de los años perdidos y de todo lo que pudo ser y no fue, te darás cuenta que te convertiste en una sombra, en lo escondido, en lo secreto, en la vergüenza, en la otra.
